U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework Privacy Policy

Surveillance, Resources and Investigations (SR&I) is a premier provider of background screening services. At SR&I we are committed to protecting consumer privacy. SR&I adheres to the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use and retention of personal information obtained from European Union member countries and Switzerland. SR&I certifies that we adhere to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access and enforcement. SR&I is provided personal information from our clients to process background screening services. SR&I’s clients/customers are provided proper documentation notifying the individual of the purpose for which the information will be collected and how they information will be used. SR&I will not disclose any information for a purpose other than for which it was originally collected. Individuals may learn more about how their information will be utilized by contacting SR&I in writing.


SR&I provides individuals the opportunity to opt out whether their personal information will be disclosed to a third party or used for purpose incompatible with the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. Individuals that do not wish for SR&I to collect any information about them have the option of refusing to sign the notice and authorization form provided by the potential or current employers in accordance with the FCRA. Individuals that wish to revoke their consent to SR&I collecting information about them can do so at any time by contacting SR&I in writing. If an individual decides to opt out it does not mean the information will be deleted, removed or erased. Various laws and compliance obligations require SR&I to maintain data for a specific amount of time, however the individuals data will not be further disclosed after SR&I receives an opt out notice.

3. ONWARD TRANSFER (Transfers to Third Parties)

SR&I will disclose consumer information obtained on an individual to:

  • a. Clients and their designated agents
  • b. Partners/Sub-Contractors/Third party representatives authorized to receive information

Individuals who wish to not have their information transferred to any third party should not provide their personal information to SR&I or SR&I’s client. SR&I ensures that any third party for which Personal information may be disclosed conforms to the Safe Harbor Principles and are subject to law to provide the same level of privacy protections as is required by the Sage Harbor Principles.


SR&I allows individuals to receive a copy of the information SR&I has collected about them in adherence with the FCRA or other applicable laws. SR&I allows the individual to correct, amend or delete inaccurate information collected. Individuals that wish to access reports maintained by SR&I should contact us at 1-855-581-0937. SR&I may ask individuals to provide verification proof of identity for security purposes before releasing any information.


SR&I is committed to protecting and safeguarding the personal information we receive. SR&I has security measures in place to protect against the misuse, loss or alteration of personal information. SR&I utilizes Secure Socket Layer (SSL) data encryption to safeguard personally-identifiable information. SR&I cannot guarantee the security of the information but we utilize a multitude of on-line and off-line security measures.


SR&I will only process personal information that is in accordance with the Safe Harbor Principles and various laws that are relevant for the purpose of its collection. SR&I takes reasonable steps to ensure the information collected is complete, reliable and accurate. SR&I cannot be responsible for the accuracy of information nor guarantee the accuracy of information obtained from public records, governmental record sources or from credit bureaus.


SR&I conducts in-house audits of our compliance with the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles. SR&I encourages consumers to bring to our attention any concerns by contacting SR&I and we will investigate and will work to resolve any disputes regarding the disclosure and use of personal information in accordance with the Safe Harbor Principles. SR&I will post any revised policy on this website. The privacy policy may be amended from time to time to be consistent with the requirements of the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and U.S.-Swiss Safe Harbor Framework Privacy Policy.
